# Object Detection for Graphical User Interface: Old Fashioned or Deep Learning or a Combination?

Compares seven traditional and learned GUI element detectors on more than 50,000 interface images. The analysis motivates a coarse-to-fine non-text detector combined with a learned text detector to address GUI-specific localization requirements.
