# Step-level Optimization for Efficient Computer-use Agents

Proposes a step-level model cascade that runs a smaller computer-use policy until learned monitors flag stalled progress or semantic drift. Separate history-based stuck detection and milestone checks determine when to escalate for recovery or verification without retraining the larger model.
