Scope and limitations

A broad literature synthesis spanning images, video, audio, GUI and embodied settings. Its GUI section compares interface-state retention, action outcomes, cross-session reuse and visual evidence, but the paper does not provide a new GUI-agent experiment. Taxonomy corpus counts and benchmark classifications are authors' annotations, not independently audited field coverage. Updating stored content alone does not establish the survey's self-evolving-policy tier; endpoint task success does not isolate memory use. Lifecycle, resource-budget and provenance recommendations are proposed evaluation directions rather than demonstrated guarantees. Platform facets stay unspecified; cited systems and releases were not independently verified.
